This picture is me climbing Lehigh Gap near Danielsville, Pennsylvania while hiking 214 miles on the Appalachian Trail in 2016. I am afraid of heights and of falling.
I accomplished this feat by learning four important life-changing things:

I have been doing bookkeeping for over 25 years. I have an associate’s degree in accounting. I am certified by the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks On-line. I also carry two titles through the National Association of Certified Bookkeepers; CPB, and CQA.
I am a go-getter, very innovative and software savvy. I taught myself both Peachtree and QuickBooks Desktop and Online. I worked with one company in the capacity of office manager for 18 years, and for the last three and a half years, as a contractor after I started up my own business. When I first started working for this business (early in my career), the owner had just let his office manager go. I stepped in, saw what was needed and did it without needing any formal training. The owner showed me how to page him on their phone system and showed me where to locate lot pricing in Paradox (that goes back a ways. ??) so I could bill the customers off of the shop paperwork. He went out into the shop to do what he needed to do, and the rest is history. Over the years, I made major changes as to how the incoming paperwork was processed, how customers were billed, how paperwork was filed, and how vendors were paid. The busier I got, the more innovative I became. I would have to say, over the years, I cut the workload in half. During that time, I also successfully converted Peachtree to QuickBooks Desktop with no training, and I helped convert the shop production program to an industry specific program. I learned every aspect of this industry specific program. Billing changed from being done in QuickBooks to being part of the whole shop production process.
